CONNECT SAT NAV with computer by USB Cable
Connect your device to computer with the help of USB cable of particular device. For better speed you need mini USB cable. You can get one from market too.
To have maps for your GPS you need to find them over open street map. It is globally recognized source of maps. Select your maps over open street maps but make sure it says Yes in Routable column.
COPY YOUR MAPS TO SatNav
Use In-built Memory
You can copy map to inbuilt memory of SatNav or you can choose external memory card to perform action.
When you connect device to computer it provide you storage space with name additional drive. There is not enough space on device; you have to delete some files to make room for maps. Always make a backup for files and maps over your computer.
Replace in-built maps with latest updated maps. The base maps and large road or cities, not suitable for routing. You can get more than 50 MB by deleting voices and languages.
Paste required maps in SatNav and see if generated maps fit on your device or not.
Use Memory Card
If you don’t want to touch any original map, than you can use external SD card to perform this action. Create a folder name Garmin and copy you .img files in the directory.
But make sure Garmin only allow upto 4GB memory card for process like this. So be careful in advance.
Check your New Maps
To check your maps perform actions which are listed below.
- Disconnect SatNav from the computer
- Turn it on
- Click on option Tools from bottom right corner.
- Click on settings, then on map, now on map info.
You will get your maps.
